Beat Dilaudid
Hydromorphone, is a common name for dihydromorphinone and dimorphone, can be found under the trade names- Palladone, Palladone SR, Dilaudid as well as many others. Hydromorphone was first compounded and researched in Germany in 1924 and introduced to the market by Knoll in 1926 under the brand name Dilaudid. Dilaudid is actually a semi synthetic drug which is basically a derivative of morphine. This drug is prescribed to cancer patients quite frequently. It is very addictive and is a favorite of heroin addicts. A lot of addicts have found ways to play the Dr’s by faking extreme pain and asking for dilaudid. They will often have a string of Dr’s that they know will write a prescription for dilaudid. What happens is sooner or later this string will play out and then the addict is sick and will go through dilaudid withdrawal. This is the prime time for them to seek help. If they have enough pills left they can wean themselves off the drug. I would start by decreasing my dosage by one pill per day.
If this does not work I would recommend that you look into going to treatment. If you choose to do this you can be medically detoxed for dilaudid This is done by people who have been specifically trained for this. More than likely you will be given medications to ease the pain of withdrawal. This process usually takes around 5 days. I would recommend going to residential treatment when you are finished detoxing if you want to remain clean when you leave rehab.
Good luck
