The Wenger Commando as an Ideal Gift Watch for Young Men

July 13th, 2010

Buying a watch as a gift is often difficult. You have to take into account the personal taste and style of the person for whom you are getting the watch. You also have to consider what other watches they may already have. And you have to think about what sorts of activities they like to participate in.

The easiest sort of person to buy a watch for is a young man or teenage boy. In times past many communities used to have a tradition of marking the coming of age of a young man by presenting him with a watch. Often this was a really expensive and beautiful Swiss watch, an Omega say. In many cases the watch would then be put away for safekeeping until the young man turned 18 or 21. It is a beautiful tradition but it is sadly dying out. It is also limited in that very often only a parent, grandparent or perhaps aunt or uncle would want to spend a really serious sum of money on a gift watch. Yet there is nothing that says the rest of us can’t still buy watches as gifts for special occasions without having to pay a complete fortune. In that regard I’ve always thought that it is easiest to buy one for a young man or teenager.

In general this is an age when many boys are interested in outdoor activities and want a watch that looks nice but that is also functional and can stand up well to abuse and can be used in the shower and the swimming pool. This is also an age when it is not really appropriate to have a watch that is too “old” so it should be something reasonably young but still grown up and stylish. To my mind it is hard to think of something better than a Wenger Commando Watch. They look good, are tough as anything and will last a long time.

Motorcycle half helmets

July 12th, 2010

Motorcycle accidents occur when you least expect them to. Keep in mind that you should always wear your retro motorcycle helmet even if your state law does not require you to do so. If your half shell helmet is old you may want to consider purchasing a new retro motorcycle helmet. New motorcycle lids can cost anywhere from 50 to a few hundred dollars. Do not be cheap when it comes to buying a helmet as that is the only item which will protect your head in the case of a serious accident. Keep in mind that even low-speed accidents can be fatal if your head falls on the pavement in the right way. Do not buy a used, as you do not know how the previous owner has treated their riding gear. If you do not like the feeling of a full face helmets, consider buying a one half helmet as well.

Make sure you buy a bright helmet, which can be seen by others so that you can help avoid motorcycle accidents. For example if you decide to buy a black helmet complex, should have additional colorful graphics such as orange flames. You do not want to buy a pure black helmet as it will be hard for other motorists to see you in traffic. Keep in mind that they’re very different styles for helmets and it is important to find one which is comfortable for your head. One of the things you should always look at is the inside liner is back in a big difference between comfort for long distance motorcycle rides. Another option you have is to purchase your old school helmet from an online retailer. Online retailers they offer better pricing than your local motorcycle store. Make sure that the comment you purchase is either a DOT or Snell certified. Void in the novelty helmets because you do not know if they have been made to proper standards.

However, many companies suggest that one discuss non prescription contacts with their doctor before purchasing them. Some eyes are very sensitive and a foreign object like a contact could cause problems.

Non prescription colored contacts are available in a wide array of colors, and some even feature unique designs. Common eye colors including blue, brown, and hazel are available, but so are bold colors like purple and red. One can find many shades of the same color in the marketplace. Many companies organize their contacts into groups, designating which ones are best for medium eyes, light eyes, and dark eyes. This is because the eye’s original color will have some effect on how the new contact color looks. One can find more interesting contacts, such as ones that look like cat’s eyes, from some retailers. These become especially popular around Halloween and can be a lot of fun for special events.

Colored contacts will vary in price, but one can expect to pay around thirty dollars a pair. One will also need to consider the costs of lens care products that they will need to purchase, such as cleaning solution and a case. It is important to follow all manufacturers’ directions for cleaning and wear.

The Next Level of Tattoo Removal

February 10th, 2010

Tattoo`s are an art form that has been around around for centuries. Tattoo removal however is something that has been around for only a few years. Many of the procedures that carry out this process are extremely painful and often expensive. Technological advances are constantly being made in all fields and tattoo removal is no different. The TCA tattoo removal system is one of the most effective on the market and it is also one of the best value too.

The effectiveness of TCA for tattoo removal is enabled by the peeling agent that in holds. This is in the form of trichloroacetic acid, the strength is of a non-prescription level meaning that anyone is able to purchase this product. Due to its ease of use it can be applied at home without the assistance of anyone.

The process of applying the TCA chemical peels is simple, it is also fully explained on their website. The inflammation that is caused by the acid is controlled. Once the inflammation has occurred, after approximately 7-8 days the skin will begin to shed and peel. During this process it is paramount that you do not tamper with the area as this can and will cause scarring of the skin. This will bring the ink to the surface and then the scabbed area will fall off bringing the ink with it.

The amount of applications required to remove the tattoo completely can vary from person to person. It is vital that you allow the area to completely heal before applying another dose as this areas can become extremely sensitive. For this reason applying acid to an unhealed area again can cause scarring to that area, also a lot of pain. The cost of this treatment obviously varies depending on how many treatments required. It remains one of the best value available.

Laser Hair Removal Pricing Structure

February 10th, 2010

When it comes to laser hair removal pricing there are several factors that will influence the cost. Different areas of the body will cost more than others usually depending on the amount and the thickness of the hair among other factors. However, despite have fewer and usually lighter hairs laser facial hair removal will actually cost a little more considering that the hairs should be easier to treat and the area of the region is usually a lot smaller than anywhere else on the body. The reason for this is because the facial region requires a special amount of attention due to the delicate nature of the procedure and its proximity to the eyes which are very delicate tissue.

For all the reasons listed that would influence the cost of hair removal by laser treatment, some clinics have chosen different ways to bill their clients. Some doctors will charge a flat rate based on the area of the body to be treated. In doing so patient who are considering facial hair laser removal for example would know exactly what it would cost for a full treatment. This means that there is one price regardless of how big or small your area is and regardless of how many sessions it takes to remove all the hair from that area.

Other pricing methods include a per-pulse pricing which will charge the patient based on the number of firings of the laser. Each pulse of the laser will usually treat thousands of hair follicles and this pricing is a great option in the long run because the later sessions and touch up sessions will be very affordable as fewer pulses are required to finish the work. Finally, some clinics chose to bill their clients based on the amount of time it takes to complete the treatment. This usually will be heavily influenced by the amount of hair to be treated as well as the speed of the laser machine and the person operating it.

Try Cubic Zirconia Rings

January 27th, 2010

Nothing quite says bling like a shiny rock on your finger. However, not everyone can afford or indeed wants the expensve of purchasing diamonds. There are alternatives, but it is Cubic Zirconia rings that really stand out as suitable alternatives to the diamonds.

These Cubic Zirconia rings are made to high standards, and just because it isn’t a real diamond it doesn’t mean that you need to compromise on getting a nice white gold or platinum ring to hold you rock in. There are also lots of matching earrings available, that make a complete set and really make your outfit look great.

The technology used to create CZ rings means that you will get a near perfect representation of the light reflecting properties of a real diamond. Casual observers and even people who think that they are in the know will not be able to tell if the ring on your finger is a genuine diamond or not. Also, it is not the cost of the ring but what it stands for that is the most important thing.

Another advantage of CZ over diamonds is that they are a lot cheaper to insure. If you are prone to loosing jewellery, which a surprising number of people are, then it is worth considering. There is nothing worse than loosing something so small that cost so much.

If you are looking for a beautiful, long lasting and inexpensive alternative to a diamond then you should check out CZ rings. As this is a cheaper material it is also favored by independent jewellery makers who can’t afford to hold a stock of diamonds. This means that you are far more likely to find one off pieces or stunning contemporary designs made using CZ. Having a unique piece of jewellery is a great way to distinguish yourself from the general fashion trends of traditional ring design.

Messenger Bags and Me, a Love Story of Sorts

January 26th, 2010

When I first met the woman who is now my wife, I saw her standing on the corner of a street in London outside a jazz bar. We were both meeting mutual friends who wanted to introduce us, and from the moment we met it was love at first sight. Yet when I look back on that moment I can’t remember what she was wearing (typical guy that I am) but I do remember that she had a great big blue messenger bag. Over the years I ended up borrowing the bag from her more and more, for the simple reason that they are incredibly tough and really useful. And, what’s more, there is nothing in the slightest odd about a man being seen with a messenger bag. I don’t think she ever intended for it to become a shared item, nor, I’m sure did she think of it as unisex when she bought it. But these really are bags that men and women can feel equally comfortable being seen about town with. They hold loads, have a broad shoulder strap that makes them comfortable for all-day carrying and they are pretty weather resistant too.

Since being introduced to the idea of messenger bags for men by my wife I’ve also moved on to using a laptop messenger bag for my daily work. The one I use is German and is also really convenient as well as smart looking. It protects my laptop with a really great padded sleeve that closed down well and has proper shock and drop protection built into it. It also has enough space for me to carry my pens, a couple of notepads and, when travelling for business, a toothbrush, razor, clean shirt and change of underwear and socks. I never expected to become such a fan of this style of bag. Previously I’d used backpacks wherever possible, even buying a padded backpack for my laptop, but I’ve since become a convert to the more relaxed yet also slightly more stylish idea of using a messenger bag for most business and private occasions.

Pocket Watch History

January 21st, 2010

If you have come online wondering about your pocket watch, you have come to the right place. This article will give you a great overview of several key points relating to pocket watches. Specifically, we will cover the history, invention, and usage and decline of these marvelous time pieces. This article will give you everything you need to know about the important history of the pocket watch.

Before the invention of pocket watches, almost everyone used wall clocks in their home or place of business to tell time. The advance of technology brought about smaller devices, and before long jewelers and clock makers were beginning to make a device worn around the neck. These new clocks were much smaller than people were used to, but were too big and bulky to wear in the pocket.

The pocket watch was first invented in the early 15th century. Peter Henlien, originally a master locksmith, was a notable pocket watch maker around the year 1524. With the invention and popularity of pocket watches, they quickly spread around europe during the 1500′s through 1800′s. It wasn’t before long that they spread to America along with the many immigrants who came there.

In the 1800′s, pocket watches saw a peak in usage and popularity. They became a standard piece of equipment among all rail workers, as implemented in 1887 by the American Railway Association. In fact, if a member of a railway company did not have his pocket watch in satisfactory working order upon a spot check from a superior, he was often faced with disciplinary action. Unfortunately, the reshaping of American fashion meant the twilight of the pocket watch for most. Despite being a societal staple through the early part of the 1900′s, the pocket watch saw dwindling popularity upon the invention of the wrist watch. However, many hobbyists remain true to the roots of pocket watches by using them and collecting them.
